The meander design, also known as the "key" design, can be seen in Mediterranean artistry from ancient Greek architecture to Roman fresco borders.  The name "Meander" is derived from the Meander river (or Menderes River) in modern-day Türkiye. The repeating, intertwining pattern symbolizes unity, infinity, and the eternal flow of life.
